Event Description: Seattle-based drag performer Vel Veeta is ready to test your LGBTQ+ trivia knowledge. Network with old friends and new in this event hosted by PCMA Pacific Northwest and Visit Seattle. Bring a friend, a drink, and your game face and get ready to be quizzed on all things LGBTQ+.
Bio: What’s saucy, cheap, and liked by everyone? Well, Vel Veeta of course!
Originally from the bustling, sophisticated metropolis of Reno NV, Vel moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2019 in search of opportunities, a change in scenery, and humidity (hello to no more lotion!) Since relocating, Vel has fallen in love with the local drag scene and performed throughout the region in Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, and Oak Harbor. Despite her jet setter lifestyle, Vel’s favorite venue is her living room, filming content for digital drag shows (thanks COVID!)
Vel is a nutritious mix of glam, camp, heart, and stupidity. Now, Vel’s style is a very eclectic mix. Imagine you have a cauldron. You throw in equal parts Thierry Mugler, Good Will, and Bob Mackie. Add a shot of tequila and a hit of poppers and BOOM- there you go! Vel likes cracking jokes but doesn’t think she will ever do stand up comedy (it requires too much leg strength). When it comes to dancing? Watch out. When Vel sees a dancefloor, her signature “coordinated flailing” move is sure to come out. And let’s just say it’s a show stopper (mostly because security has to stop the show to remove her from the dance floor.)
Outside of drag, Vel’s hobbies include interior design, growing plants, hiking and watching really trashy reality TV shows.
