2018 Scholarships

Scholarships from the Pacific Northwest Chapter of PCMA are available for the following:

  1. 2018 PCMA Annual Meeting, Convening Leaders: January 7-10, 2018 (Nashville, TN)
  2. 2018 PCMA Education Conference, June 10-13, 2018 (Cleveland, OH)
  3. Membership Dues
  4. Student Scholarships for Annual Meeting and Membership Dues

In order to be eligible for an industry or student scholarship, applicants must meet the following prerequisites and agree to the following, or may be asked to return scholarship funds:

  1. Be an active member in good standing with a minimum of one continuous year of membership.
  2. Maintain active membership in the Pacific Northwest Chapter of PCMA for at least (1) full year after scholarship receipt and attend (3) chapter events that year.
  3. Volunteer as a member of a committee or serve on the Board of Directors for (1) year after scholarship receipt.
  4. Write an article for the quarterly newsletter about how you took what you learned at the event you attended and how you implemented it into your career or personal life. Article is required at the time recipient sends in reimbursement form with copies of receipts. Reimbursement will not be granted/approved until required article has been submitted.

 

  1. Currently be enrolled in a hospitality program and maintain a 3.5 GPA.
  2. Provide an updated resume showing hospitality academics and experience.
  3. Volunteer as a member for a committee after scholarship receipt.
  4. Overview

We will grant scholarships using a time/monetary value system. A Meeting Planner scholarship applicant may request up to $2,300 yearly. Supplier scholarship applicant may request/utilize up to $2,300 in a two year time frame. Time would begin towards the two year time frame based on the initial date scholarship was requested.

Applicants may request funding based on their need – scholarship money will be available for registration, airfare, and hotel for conferences. All scholarships awarded are to be used to reimburse actual expenses and reimbursement requests shall be submitted to the Chapter Treasurer and Chapter Administrator with accompanying documentation.

The Amy Wilkerson Memorial Scholarship has been developed to support continuing education efforts of members of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of PCMA. Our chapter honors the involvement, dedication and passion Amy had for the PNW Chapter. We want to award those who have similar qualities with opportunities to attend the PCMA Annual Meeting.

This scholarship is for Meeting Planners who will receive a full ride scholarship valued at approx. $2,300. Includes airfare, registration*, (4) nights lodging in the PCMA room block. Recipient is responsible for their travel arrangements through PCMA Headquarters.

*Early Bird registration is required. Recipient must stay in the PCMA room block.

Scholarship Applications will be reviewed by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and their decision shall be final. Recipients will be notified in accordance with the following schedule:
