Chapter News

Thank you for joining PCMA PNW’s “Guided Conversations: Moving Towards Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion

On October 13, 2020, the PCMA PNW Chapter hosted a virtual program produced by our newly established Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Our “United We Brunch” webinar series takes on a new topic monthly and in October, our panel of 8 took on the important subject of “Guided Conversations: Moving towards diversity, equity, and inclusion”.

Moderated by Director of Employee Experience at RedPeg Marketing, Pearlie Oni, the webinar opened by showing the audience and panelists this powerful video. Pearlie then thoughtfully guided our panelists through their experiences of racism and lack of inclusion in the hospitality industry. The panelists included:

  • Andréa Long of Twilio and Firewood Events
  • Cameron Hart of Visit Seattle
  • Adrienne Blue of ConferenceDirect
  • Tricia Dillard of Hyatt Sales Force
  • Leslie Womack of The Mayflower Park Hotel
  • Taren Tennessee of RedPeg Marketing
  • Josh Henry of SPIE
  • And our Moderator, Pearlie Oni of RedPeg Marketing

We cannot thank these individuals enough for their contributions to this virtual event. Our attendees we’re able to listen in on and learn from a candid, brave, and vulnerable conversation. Our hope is that all who tuned in will keep the open dialogue going and be inspired to continue the work needed in order to have a more diverse, equal, and inclusive industry.
